Ponds

We have something for everyone from the beginner to the experienced fly fisher.  You can choose from five ponds with different challenge levels and sized fish in each pond (the bigger fish are usually the smartest).  We are currently building more ponds and expanding into more species including the enigmatic Murray cod, and the hard fighting Australian Bass. Entry is just $2 per person (kids under 5 free). If you wish, you may bring your own gear and test out that new lure or fly, or for just $2 you can hire ours (rod, bait, tackle and bucket included)

Atlantic Salmon pond:

A very popular pond.  Sleek, slender and strong, these fish are fantastic fighters and beautiful to eat.  They range in size from 500g - 1.5kg.  Get you bait smashed and watch them leap clear out of the water in the battle.

Rainbow Trout ponds:

BBQ size trout pond  - succulent plate sized fish just perfect for the barbecue.  These fish bite well on bait and lures.  They are ideal for families or trout lovers wishing to catch enough fish for lunch or dinner.   We sell BBQ dressings to go with your catch.

Banquet size trout pond - Delicious 1-2kg fish for any festive occasion.  Your rod will be thrashing around with one of these beauties on it.  At the end of the day you will be telling the tale of your catch over the dinner table.

Trophy size trout lake - The lake is ideal for fly fishermen as it contains dragonfly/mayfly larvae, bait fish, yabbies, small red fin and big trout.  It is a large natural water hole with weed beds and some "hot spots" where the "thumper" trout lurk.  Your catch will be the kind you'll either want to mount on a wall or satisfy a big family dinner.  These fish are 500g to 5kg in general.  The largest fish ever caught from this lake was a staggering 7.25kg.  There are also some Brown Trout and a couple of rogue Murray Cod.

And, if it just isn't your day, try:

"The Desperado"  trout pond -  This is a small pond chock-a-block with various sized trout.  It is quite a good pond to start little kids off in as they can see the trout swimming around and, if you "just wanna bag a trout", this is your pond.

Fly Fishing:

Fly fishing is available all year round on our ponds.  From May through to October when the water temperatures are cool and the trout recover well, we do a special "catch and release" on our lake only for $15 per hour.  All other times of the year you must keep what you catch on the fly. We also supply fly fishing rods for hire if required.

Tour Groups:

Whether you are on a coach tour of the area or on a corporate weekend we offer a natural relaxing  atmosphere to catch a couple of salmon or take away some gourmet goodies.  We have an excellent selection of regional gourmet foods, wine, beer, cheese, smoked trout and salmon products including our famous Smoked Trout Pâté.  See the full product list here.  With prior notice, we can arrange a sample platter for groups visiting the farm.  People wishing to purchase fresh fish can select them live from our pond.  We will clean them and put them on ice in a foam esky for you to take home.  Free entry for pre-booked tour groups of more than 15 people.  Other attractions in the area include a visit to Eildon township, the Lake Eildon dam wall and pondage, the local Snob's Creek Winery and Fraser National Park.
